”We absolutely loved having Seb visit our school. His reading of his book in assembly was engaging and exciting. The children who participated in the workshop came back buzzing about the stories they had written; they were really inspired.”

”Just a note to say a big thank you to the school for organising Sebastian’s visit. Utterly inspiring! Really valuable for children to meet a young approachable author at this exciting early point in his career”

Writing Workshop

This exciting, engaging and encouraging 1-hour workshop helps KS1 children improve their storytelling skills. I will share examples of ideas and inspirations that helped me when I was writing my story, creating my characters and publishing my book. The children will gain an insight on how to develop their ideas into great stories and characters. They will then have the opportunity to bring their stories to life with a writing activity for the second half of the workshop. The workshop is suitable for Year 2.

I was so impressed with Sebastian’s visit to our school. He had a fantastic rapport with the children during their writing workshop and they were all engaged and enthusiastic listening to his reading of Bella Boo and Bloomer Fen in assembly

Assembly Reading with Q+A:

In this inspiring assembly there is an opportunity for the younger years to be included with Reception to Year 3 all welcome to hear a reading of my book, Bella Boo and Bloomer Fen. The children will hear an uplifting story about my time in Primary School that influenced the message of the book; believing in yourself to overcome a challenge you’re facing. At the end of the reading there will be a Q+A session for all Years to ask any questions they have.

We were lucky enough to have Seb visit our school as part of our World Book Day activities. He held a small workshop for aspiring writers and delivered an exciting assembly for the whole school. It was fantastic for the children to meet a published author and hear about the writing process; a great way to inspire them with their own literary dreams. Thank you for a brilliant afternoon Seb!

Book Signing:

At the end of the school day children and parents will have the opportunity to purchase an exclusive signed copy of Bella Boo and Bloomer Fen for a price of £6.99, £5. The children will also get to meet the first ever Bella Boo and Bloomer Fen teddies and ask anymore questions they have.

I liked the book because it rhymes, there are lovely pictures and I love the name ‘Bella Boo.’ I liked the workshop because I got to write my own story and Seb told us how to write amazing stories.

Isabel (Year 3)

I had loads of fun writing with Sebastian. I really like poetry and he made it really fun.

Josie (Year 2)

Dates are being booked up. Don’t miss out!

Meet the Author

I’m a 25 year old self published author from West Sussex. I published my first book, Bella Boo and Bloomer Fen, during my final year at the University of Westminster; where I graduated with a degree in International Business in 2015.

Although I was born in the UK, I spent my childhood growing up on the East Coast of Ireland in County Dublin. I loved growing up in Ireland and I have many fond memories of the vibrant, wild and magical countryside; which was a huge inspiration for creating the world for my characters to have their adventures.

I’m currently writing the second book in the Bella Boo series; creating the first ever Bella Boo and Bloomer Fen teddies and visiting schools across the UK to inspire the next generation of writers.

Sebastian was well organised and his warm and friendly manner made the visit a huge success. It was wonderful to watch the children’s interest and enthusiasm build in assembly as Sebastian spoke about the special people and places that inspired him to write.

He left all the children feeling that with perseverance, support and hard work they too could be successful. We hope he will visit us again to share any new books!
